There is a lot of carving wood on Amazon, and most of them are the same, which is not worth your money.

Best All Around – BeaverCraft Basswood
If I need some basswood to carve and I need it quickly off of Amazon, my first stop is ALWAYS going to be BeaverCraft wood.
From my experiences, BeaverCraft’s basswood is consistent, soft, and affordable. I have purchased a lot of their wood over the years and I have never had an issue with it before.
They also sell different sized wood and quantities for most carvers. I’ll list them below with links.

If you are looking for a little bit more variety than that from BeaverCraft, CanUSA is my only other recommendation I would give from Amazon. It’s just a little harder to work with but still better than the rest on Amazon.
